The battle for the rights of animals is not only about animals

The battle for the rights of #animals is not only about animals. It is about us. Once we desanctify animals we desanctify all life. And once life is desanctified the industrial machines of death, and the drone-like bureaucrats, sadists and profiteers who operate them, carry out #human carnage as easily as animal carnage. There is a direct link between our industrial slaughterhouses for animals and our industrial weapons used on the battlefields in the Middle East. Cattle prods were a favored #torture implement in the Abu Ghraib prison in #Baghdad .

Industrial #farms are factories. #Machines kill the animals. And in modern warfare machines kill our enemies. Iraqis, Afghans, Pakistanis, Somalis, Yemenis are condemned, like livestock, from a distance. Hired killers push buttons. Slaughter, at home and at war, is automated. The innocent animals depend on us and we have put them through a massive horrific holocaust of their own, which is somehow accepted behind closed doors, packaged in fancy plastic, and delivered to fast food stores around the world. Flesh is not needed for optimal nutrition, never was, and the current system which provides it is a tragedy upon all humankind. There’s a reason early #Christians were vegetarian; the pharaohs and high priests of Egypt ate no meat; the original Buddhists were vegan; even the original first nation natives across the Americas are plant based diets until becoming corrupted. Meat factories have grown and its bloody practices expanded widely in just a short period of time. Entire cultures have changed their eating habits and the diseases have skyrocketed. There would be no heart disease or diabetes with flesh, dairy, and the loads of pesticide processed foods people eat unknowingly of what is right and what is wrong. Just because its there does not make it right. Everyone is different and set in different ways, but beyond that we are all human and should not support cruel horrific farming practices, as that is wrong. Life is important or if not than the entire plot is lost…
